The Middle Finger

I am about to loose the nail on my middle finger. This is probably due to 50 years of negative Karma. About a month ago I was throwing a tantrum over a tape measure slicing my finger. In that painful moment, I took the tape measure and threw it across the back yard, on the follow through the end of my middle finger struck a post. Ouch!
Well now, it is hanging by a thread.
Never have lost a nail before.

DOJ Backs Down

For the Feds to give up on this is surprising, the outlook for the beleagured Department of Justice must have been poor, this case is right in the progressive wheelhouse.
"Especially with immigration such a hot topic right now, a lot of Republicans think it's a winning issue for them," Moore said. "This is not going to open the floodgates ... but I think other states are going to take a fresh look at it."
The mood is not good right for illegals, chances are the the Democrats are going drag feet and lay low till after the next election. After that they will be able to restart their normal b.s argument that Republicans are racist.

South Carolina Senate

It all adds up up to only 82%, so I guess that there are a lot of democrats out there that are not going to participate. Is it not amazing that 19% of any populace would vote for a man that just got out of jail? No doubt there are some people in South Carolina that hate Senator DeMint.

Washaun Ealey Arrested

Another arrest up in Athens, first rate running back with, apparently, a 10 cent head.  The esteemed Atlanta Journal Constitution reports...
“Parking Services employees witnessed the accident, made contact with the driver and advised him to wait because police had been called,” Williamson said. “The driver advised he could not wait and left the scene” after parking the car.
The young man is told to wait for the police and leaves the scene after that, the excuse that he did not know it happened cannot be applied. It will be interesting to see what punishment Coach Richt applies.

Signs are, the UGA management has had enough of this crap.

Hertitage Foundation Humor

Ronny Howard's little brother, he of The Andy Griffith Show and Gentle Ben as a campaign planning congressman.
"What about, you are afraid of getting yelled at?"
Humorous yes, but the problem is, the reality is really f.n scary.

Edith Shain

On 14-August-1945, America celebrated V-J Day. During a happy New York city parade, Edith Shain, a nurse at Doctor's Hospital was at Times Square. There she met an American sailor home from the war, strangers, their kiss was caught by Life magazine's photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt.
The picture captured the feelings of millions of citizens, pride, accomplishment, pain and happy relief that no more servicemen would die in World War II.
Edit Shain died on June 24th 2010, at the age of 91.
The devotion that these men and women exhibited during World War II is awe inspiring. Not to demean the sacrifice of our current day defenders, they are all brave and have my deep appreciation. It is unfortunate that today's media does not love their servicemen with the same fervor they deride their missions.
People like Edith Shain are leaving us all too quickly.

Short for Boudreax, this is a neighbor's dog.

I Guess I am Ignorant

This I owe to my government education.

Covered in many places on the Internet but apparently not at his place of work. MSNBC's Cenk Uygur had this to say about the uproar of the proposed mosque near the former World Trade Center.
"The roughly 70 percent of Americans who oppose the Ground Zero mosque are ignorant."
Cenk Uygur is Turk born in Istanbul, graduate of Columbia law, and former member of the New York Bar.
He characterises himself as an moderate liberal agnostic.
I describe him as an Islamic leaning asshole.

By the by Mr. Uygur, Rasmussen says...
Now 62% oppose the building of a mosque near where the World Trade Center stood in Lower Manhattan, compared to 54% in the previous survey. Twenty-five percent (25%) favor allowing the mosque to go ahead, and 13% more are not sure.
Using my secular government education, 0.7 x 0.62 = 0.43, 43% of Americans polled are ignorant.
I wonder how that compares with actual illiteracy level of Uygur's backwards-ass homeland?

Recovery?

Sent to me by PJMS, looks like a Photoshop job to me, but it is funny regardless.
A guy gets a new boat and takes it to a Lake Michigan boat ramp, but he wasn't quite sure of the correct procedure for launching a boat. However, he figured it couldn't be that difficult to do, so he stopped by his Chicago Laborers Union office for advice.

Resistance to the Zionists

Cal Thomas writes in the Jewish World Review a synopsis of Islamic reactions to Zionist historical events. These begin in 1917, 31 years before Israeli Independence, through today. Said synopsis includes international events favorable and unfavorable to Zionist state.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need to use up the oil in the Middle East so America's national needs evaporate.  Then let the chips fall where they may.
My prediction is that, without a reformation, Islam will continue to fall short of leading its people out of poverty, poverty that feeds terrorism.
Muslims' problems are not the Israelis, it's that they are poor, and have leaders that abuse their people.
Muslims' are taught to hate Jews as a vessel for their pain.

Carter lands in North Korea

Uncle Jimmy, about 5 removed by marriage, has gone to North Korea to bring home an American hostage. The AJC reports in an Associated Press feed.
I can predict the outcome, we announce that the Communist Koreans are going to release Aijalon Gomes, with the proclamation that no concessions were made.
Shortly after the release, reported as unconnected, shipments of food and oil are sent to North Korea.
Soon after that North Korea has their ransom payment, they resume their habitual pattern of unethical international behavior.
And as usual, ineffective American leadership will dawdle until again forced rewarding bad behaviour.
Bush was not better than Clinton, Obama by proxy via Carter by reputation will probably give more for less.

Blonde Joke...

Sent to me by DGJ.....

A blonde gets a job as a teacher. During recess, she notices a boy in the field standing alone, while all the other kids are running around having fun.
She takes pity on him and decides to speak to him.
'You ok?' she says.
'Yes.' he says.
'You can go and play with the other kids you know.' she says.
'It's best I stay here,' he says.'
'Why?', asks Sue, the blonde.
The boy says: 'Because, I'm the fucking goalie!!'

65% of Voters Are Angry At Federal Government’s Policies

The articulate Otis says...
Yeah, me too.
With dull low pitched monotone voice. Two of every five are considered very angry. The crap that independents and party defectors were warned of came to pass. They thought that a change would be good and ignored what the obscured but ever present Progressive=Liberal=Socialist=Communist sales pitch. The Democrats had the moons aligned, in part due to the war, in a greater part due to the recession. Now we stand at the precipice of full blown depression and the middle people are leaning the other way. This too will go astray when we are re-affirmed with the reality that all entrenched Washington politicians suck.
And you probably already know it because I used the words suck and yeah, there is no articulate bone in my body.

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore

For Christmas the bride gave me a set of Martin Scorsese movies, like most sets the majority of films are ones you've never heard of. After watching Mean Streets and Goodfellas a couple of times, decided to broach the other two.
This was a pleasant surprise. Ellen Burstyn was under contract to do a film with Warner Brothers, they gave her creative license to select script and director. Burstyn wanted to create a movie that was based on a female perspective, rejecting typical scripts offered by the film company chose a story written by Robert Getchell who at that time was unheard of. Getchell later wrote screenplays for movies such as The Client, Point of No Return and Mommie Dearest.
"NO WIRE HANGERS!"
Burstyn having selected a script began her search for a director, asked Francis Copola for a recommendation. Copola suggested see watch a movie called Mean Streets.  This she did and while that movie does not relate to women, Burstyn saw special skill.

The film is about a recently widowed woman, with a 12 year old boy.  The boy is a typical 12 year old, weird, weird, weird.  Left without an income, she goes in search of a singing career.  On her trek to California she stops in Phoenix, in need of cash shell takes a job as a waitress.  There she meets a local rancher who in the end offers to follow her to California, if that's what she wants.
The main cast was:
  • Ellen Burstyn as Alice Hyatt.
  • Kris Kristofferson in his first leading role as David.
  • Alfred Lutter III as Alice's son Tommy.  Lutter was also in The Bad News Bears.
  • Diane Ladd as Flo, big hair and foul mouthed, the most fun character in the movie.
  • Harvey Keitel as Ben the lying, philandering abusive first boyfriend.  Harvey is a carry over from Mean Street and frightening in his scene of abuse.
  • Jodie Foster as Audrey the delinquent daughter of another single woman.
I give this movie a rating of 40 of 50.  A very nice surprise.
  • Character Development, 8 of 10, a woman build a life on her terms, at them time of release an unconventional development.
  • Screenplay, 8 of 10.
  • Acting, 9 of 10, Burstyn got an Academy Award.
  • Photography, 7 of 10. Scorsese concentrated on the plot but in some scenes like the opening and ranch his skill is obvious.
  • Plot, 8 of 10. They thought of the plot well enough to make it a television series.

Handel and Palin

Borrowed this picture from the AJC.
Here is one of the covering stories.
Palin backs Handel as Deal crosses the state for final push

When one of my engineers asked if he could work over the weekend to free up time for attending this rally, I figured to be doing my part for representation.
Asked by another friend who I was supporting, she supports Barnes, why I was picking Handel.  May answer was that she did ot have the stink on her that Nathan Deal does, supports FairTax, she's a woman and she has no visible scars.
The response I got was that she doesn't have a college degree either.
Elitest reaction for sure.
I want change, I want turnover, Deal and Barnes are cast from the same lot.
Here Mableton, the home of Roy Barnes, men and women alike, consider the man to be arrogant.
Teachers hate Barnes with passion.

Eating from the Box

My dog has been struggling with allergies for about two years. A strange thing to start at age 9. The allergies caused John Henry to scratch and loose his appetite. A handsome dog, his fur began to become patchy and scabs were present. Anyway, after a long struggle with dog collars, steroids and antihistamines we are finally giving the yellow lab shots that have much improved his weight and coat.
For years we fed him only IAMS dry food, during this struggle the bride started hand feeding and cooking him special meals. He cut really fussy about what he ate. Now with the shots, that has improved, here he is eating right out of the storage container, dry food. He couldn't wait for me to finish pouring it out of the bag before he had his head stuck in there.

Nowadays, the cheaper the food, the more he likes it.

58% Oppose Federal Mortgage Forgiveness Plan for Troubled Homeowners

Isn't inability to fulfill financial obligations what bankruptcy is for?
In the Progressive world, the persons feelings are most important, it isn't fair that a person have the stigma of having filed for bankruptcy, they must feel good about themselves, therefore it is the government's responsibility to protect them from such feelings.
Two out of every three citizens are against such support.
Those that would support such government intrusion are most likely the same group that would buy a house with a history of inability to pay rent, and for the more affluent buy houses that are overpriced and payment structured with balloons that are intended to be sold before the nut comes due. These are people that bought beyond their means, in many cases beyond their intelligence.
Myself, when the rates fell, I refinanced, kept the same payment and cut down the number of years remaining on the term.
Protecting the the deficient from the restraints imposed by bankruptcy, is akin to weak parenting, exactly why the Democrats will like it.

Importand Anniversary Attended by One

Selma's National Voting Rights Museum planned a 45th anniversary rally celebrating the signing of the Civil Rights Act. This was to be held on Thursday August 5rd.
See link to Selma Times-Journal article.
Important stuff, wouldn't you think?  Olimatta Taal, interim executive director thought so.
“We’re expecting people to come out in numbers to the event,” she said. “We just want the people of Selma to come out and support. We want to preserve the Civil Rights Act and the voting movement. Our doors are open to everyone.”
Purpose is noble enough.  Evidently the rally didn't inspire too many.  It inspired one person, Allison Bender, of Birmingham, who showed up to the event.

One.

That it was on a week night surely did not help. Chances are the word didn't get spread like it should. In the end, people didn't really give enough of a crap to show up.  I take this to be a good sign, despite the efforts of Obama and Holder to promote black demogogery.  In many ways America has become "post-racial".

By the way, Allison Bender is white.

Great Moments in a Democratic Senate

Connecticut Senator, one of the primary authors of the recently approved "financial reform" bill, said....

"No one will know until this is actually in place how it works."
Endorsed by the tax evading Treasury Secretary Geithner as a sweeping fundamental change.   This is the kind of leadership people voted for. Senator Dodd accepts no responsibility for his role in the 2008 financial collapse. He writes a bill that whose impact he cannot predict. Yet they march forward, blindly with Progressive idealism. Why can't these fools just learn to leave shit alone, politicians, especially Progressives, leading the political class believe they are chosen to lead the masses to enlightenment, all while unwittingly admitting they are simply making furtive stabs in the dark.

A-Rod Hits 600th Home Run

The perversion of home run statistics accepted another cheater last night. Alex Rodriguez stroked the 600th home run of his career. That thanks to use of steroids, to which he has admitted.
Of the group that has achieved this milestone:
- Barry Bonds
- Henry Aaron
- Babe Ruth
- Willie Mays
- Ken Griffey Jr.
- Sammy Sosa
Only three are there honestly.
A-Rod, or more aptly "A-Roid" will be voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, but only because writers are a pack of egg sucking sycophants. If morality or rules had anything to do with it, no chance.

MegaVote: GA 13th, 8/2/2010

A vote by standing congressmen to "Cast Light on Election Spending", I think I just threw up a little in the mouth.
The Kagan vote is coming soon, time for the Republicans to show some unity that parallels the Democrats, vote NO just because she is an answer avoiding Harvard liberal.  The whole world knows she's the second coming of Ginsburg.  Let's be honest, conservatives don't want another liberal on the bench.  It is not wrong to resist an appointee on the grounds that you disagree with her principles.

A Good Catholic Joke

The Pope and Nancy Pelosi are on the same stage in Yankee Stadium in front of a huge crowd.
The Pope leans towards Mrs. Pelosi and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy?  This joy will not be a momentary display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!"
Pelosi replied, "I seriously doubt that with one little wave of your hand?  Show me!"

Election 2010: South Carolina Senate

South Carolina may be the only state in the union where a Democrat Senatorial candidate welcomes an endorsement by President Obama. DeMint's popularity is, at the moment, very high, it is doubtful that any Democrat had a fighting chance but this joker makes clear that there is a base of minority voters that will vote for their guy no matter what.
A situation not unlike that in Missouri a few years ago, when the Republican candidate lost to a man that had died.

'The Federal Government can do most anything in this country'

This congressman is a brave man to sit there and calmly tell the truth about to where the designed limitations of the Constitution have drifted. We had been at the precipice for many years and resisted, through the leadership of men like Reagan, Bush, Gingrich and Bush. With barriers removed by unified Democratic leadership in the House, Senate and Executive, they have gone to where they always wanted. The facts are that Federal government has been collecting rights onto itself for the past seventy years. Progressives have been working in defiance of the Constitution since FDR took office, with sporadic initiatives even earlier by Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.
We're screwed and it can't be undone without another revolution.
