Back Asswards Strategy

A little while back I wrote a post called, Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, about the ongoing trial of al-Qaida terrorist. Complaint being that the judge had ruled out evidence collected by means of cohercive interrogation.
Well, last week the trial ended, the managing terrorist was found guilty on one count, that being 'conspiracy to destroy U.S. government property.  For this the al-Qaida member received a sentence of 20 years to life.
The Washington Post reports that White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said...

"In the case of Mr. Ghailani, there was a guilty verdict, a minimum sentence of 20 years that incapacitated somebody that has committed a terrorist act and because of that incapacitation is not going to threaten American lives,"
Later DOJ spokesman Matt Miller delflected responsibility by saying....
"One of the strengths of the criminal justice system is its ability to handle difficult cases,"
"This was a difficult case in that there were questions about Ghailani's treatment during the previous administration"
Do you hear that, that is the sound of a little rat blaming the hole in the cookie box on the baker.  These people go against common sense and then blame the result on the man who had it right.  The Guantanamo detainees are prisoners of war, treat them as such.  The President and the Department of Justice changed the outline in a manner that rendered intelligence unusable.
Judge Lewis Kaplan, a Clinton appointee, should be appointed to a new post, as Ghailani's truck driver in his next terrorist escapade.
Eric Holder should be forced to live the rest of his life on food stamps, maybe in one of Charlie Rangle's rent control apartments. Maybe be given under the table work as a bat carrier during the nect election.
President Obama, 224 people were killed, you set up a trial that eviscerated the service of those citizens. Shame on you for not giving their families the justice they deserve, Ahmed Ghailani's death.

It Sounds Pathetic and Weak When You Whine

Now this is Auburn folks slamming the Georgia folks, too funny.
Takes 3.5 minutes to watch.
If your quarterback does not want to be hit, he should ask his offensive linemen to block for him.

American Liberals Invade Canada

Very funny, thank you for the link Dustin.
Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal-rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota. "The producer was cold, exhausted and hungry. He asked me if I could spare a latte and some free-range chicken. When I said I didn't have any, he left before I even got a chance to show him my screenplay, eh?"

If I agreed with you,

we'd both be wrong.

Nag! Nag! Nag!

An attorney arrived home late, after a very tough day trying to get a stay of execution His last minute plea for clemency to the governor had failed and he was feeling worn out and depressed.
As soon as he walked through the door at home, his wife started on him about, 'What time of night to be getting home is this? Where have you been? Dinner is cold and I'm not reheating it' And on and on and on.
Too shattered to play his usual role in this familiar ritual, he poured himself a shot of whiskey and headed off for a long hot soak in the bathtub, pursued by the predictable sarcastic remarks as he dragged himself up the stairs.
While he was in the bath, the phone rang. The wife answered and was told that her husband's client, James Wright, had been granted a stay of execution after all. Wright would not be hanged tonight.
Finally realizing what a terrible day he must have had, she decided to go up stairs and give him the good news.

As she opened the bathroom door, she was greeted by the sight of her husband, bent over naked, drying his legs and feet.
'They're not hanging Wright tonight,' she said.
He whirled around and screamed, 'FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WOMAN, DON'T YOU EVER STOP?!'

Irish Firefighter

Paddy, was walking along the street during his once-in-a-lifetime visit to New York when he rounds a corner and there's a high rise building on fire.
Paddy, ever the kind-hearted and resourceful fireman, runs up to the building to see if he can help, and notices people trapped five stories up.
Paddy yells to the people: "I'm Patrick Sean Michael Fitzpatrick, professional firefighter! If you jump, I'll catch you, I've only had 6 pints to drink all today!"
One lady, in desperation, jumps and sure enough Paddy catches her.
Then a man sees that Paddy catches the woman and he jumps. Sure enough, Paddy catches him also.
Then a black man jumps out and crashes to the sidewalk. Paddy didn't even attempt to catch him.
Paddy looks up and yells: "Don't be throwin' out the burnt ones!"

Thank You for Your Service

As a resident of Georgia, I am proud to have such a neighbor.
Captain Luckett is a double amputee, who has lost his left foot and most of his right. With prosthetic devices he managed to qualify for is Expert Infantryman's Badge, a test which requires completion of a 12 mil run with a 35 pound pack.
Since qualifying, the Captain has been in Kandahar, Afghanistan, carrying a 50 pound pack, plus body armor.
Learned of this inspiring man in the magazine National Review. Performing an Internet search yields many hits, including a cover story by NPR.
The blog title includes a link to Captain Luckett's personal web site. Go to it, there he has a wish list of items you can donate.  It's a good day to donate, all days are.

Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani

When we were courted by prospective Presidents two years ago, some of the recurring Democratic themes of that election were the promises to close Guantanamo, promises to end the war on terror and to end the military persecutions of captured combatants.
At that time I felt that those promises were mostly hot air, when faced reintegrating warlike Muslims or risking public criminal trials, leadership would have to err on on the side of pragmatism.  The Bush White House team was pragmatic and time is proving that out.
The Department of Justice, having a forced military confession from Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani for his planning role in the bombing of US embassies in 1998, and later repeated admissions via FBI interrogations, thought they had a good for-show case fit for a civilian trial.   A federal judge has now excluded the government's key witness, the man who sold explosives to Ghailani.  Now our President and his politically racist DOJ is left holding an empty bag.
So here you have it, the President has not closed Guantanamo, he has changed the name or terrorism, and when he tries to institute civilian trials the exact thing that John McCain promised has happened. We got our ass stomped by rules that don't fit the situation.
On this one, most people thought they were wrong to try, now they have proved it was wrong to try. Sad part is that if this man finds freedom, some of us might loose our lives by it.

9 big Senate gains predict much more pro-enforcement & anti-amnesty

Things just got tougher for Pedro......

MORE REALLY GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE U.S. SENATE

9 NEW SENATORS POINT TO MORE PRO-ENFORCEMENT
AND MORE ANTI-AMNESTY

Please click here to read the full analysis, with photos of the big changes.

Although you wouldn't know it from election reports in the mainstream media, the new Senate is going to be a killing ground for amnesties and other pro-foreign-worker legislation, primarily becuase of the 9 changes described below.

The change from the present occupants to next year's occupants of these 9 Senate seats represents huge shifts in favor of more immigration enforcement and less foreign-labor competition.

4 BAD OR WEAK REPUBLICANS
ARE REPLACED BY 4 STRONG PRO-ENFORCEMENT REPUBLICANS

While the media have focused on the Republicans who took Democratic seats, the biggest improvement in the Senate may come from 4 current Republican Senators who are being replaced by 4 Republicans who are enormously better on immigration issues.

Kansas

As in nearby Arkansas, the change in this Senate seat could not be much more extreme. The winner -- Rep. MORAN -- is a TRUE REFORMER. He took our survey and promised to work in the Senate for all 12 of our top immigration policy priorities (both legal and illegal immigration reductions). The Republican he replaces is Sen. Sam Brownback who holds a special place in the NumbersUSA hall of shame for his leadership in House and Senate to defeat mandatory E-Verify and in promoting higher competition from foreign workers.

Missouri

REP. ROY BLUNT is a TRUE REFORMER and has pledged to work for all 12 of our top immigration priorities. The man in the seat right now isn't all that bad. But Sen. Kit Bond has never had his heart in fighting illegal immigration or in reducing legal immigration. During his long career, he has earned only a "C+".

Utah

The current Senator Bob Bennett has always been an amnesty champion. He led a campaign of retribution against immigration-reduction groups a decade ago and much more. MIKE LEE de-throned Bennett in the state Party convention, promising to oppose amnesty and to support attrition through enforcement, mandatory E-Verify and an end to birthright citizenship for illegal aliens.

Florida

This seat belonged to Sen. Mel Martinez who was one of John McCain's pro-Amnesty brigade. For a short time, he was head of the Republican National Committee and tried to use that position to further his crusade for more foreign workers and rewards for illegal aliens. While Martinez sought to win Hispanic votes by supporting illegal immigration, voters last week chose a very different kind of Hispanic candidate in pro-enforcement MARCO RUBIO. Rubio's Hispanic concerns were much less for illegal-alien Hispanics and much more for Hispanic Americans who are suffering incredibly high unemployment.

4 PRO-ENFORCEMENT REPUBLICANS
REPLACE 4 PRO-AMNESTY DEMOCRATS

These are the most obvious victories for the Less Immigration movement.

Arkansas

Have we ever elected anybody to the Senate more fired up with a better record on immigration than John Boozeman, who defeated incumbent Blanche Lincoln (a Recent Immigration-Reduction grade of "D" and a Career Amnesty grade of "F"). Boozeman is a TRUE REFORMER who pledged to support all 12 of our top immigration policy priorities, including deep cuts in legal immigration.

Click here to read more about this change.

Illinois

This change is not so much who is arriving as who won't be filling this seat. This is the seat that Barack Obama occupied for four years adhering strictly to an open-borders agenda. His replacement, Sen. Burris, has earned an "F-minus" while voting for enforcement and immigration reduction exactly 0% of the time. Rep. MARK KIRK won the seat, promising to oppose amnesties and to support enforcement.

Click here to read more about this change.

Pennsylvania

Occupying the seat now -- as he has since 1981 -- is Arlen Specter who has been our opponent usually as a Republican and recently as a Democrat. We will have to contend with his "Grade-D" behavior no more. Voters last Tuesday chose Pat Toomey who is fantastic on fighting illegal immigration.

Click here to read more about this change.

Wisconsin

Can you imagine Wisconsin having a Senator who would oppose amnesty, support attrition through enforcement and mandatory E-Verify to cause illegal aliens to go back home? Voters elected just that kind of Senator last week in political newcomer and businessman RON JOHNSON, while booting "F-minus" Sen. Russ Feingold, one of the best friends illegal foreign workers ever had.

WHO IS THE 9TH? McCain Replaced McCain

I said at the top that there were 9 big gains in the Senate for our side in this election.

The ninth one may be stretching it a little, but I think you will appreciate my reasoning.

No Republican has been more destructive in immigration policy the last five years than John McCain.

But that John McCain is not the man who ran for re-election this year and who won last Tuesday. A vigorous Primary challenge from former congressman J.D. Hayworth changed that by slamming McCain for all his previous immigration misdeeds. Most commentators wrote that by the end of the Primary, McCain had morphed into Hayworth on immigration. It will be difficult for even McCain to renege on the pro-enforcement promises he made to voters this year. Without McCain's leadership and with Specter, Martinez, Brownback and Bennett now gone, his old Republican Amnesty Brigade just may fall apart.

Even during the current U.S. Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid has refused to allow "comprehensive immigration reform" (CIR) to come up for a vote these last two years.

With the changes above, forget about CIR. It is time for the Senate to advance pro-enforcement legislation that will put millions of unemployed Americans back to work in jobs that otherwise will be filled by foreign workers.

THANKS FOR ALL YOU DID TO HELP BRING ABOUT CHANGE IN THE SENATE,

Sun Trust TARP

Last week I was scanning through my SunTrust yearly financial report. Often these sit around for a couple of months and then I throw them away.
Having just read The Roots of Obama's Rage, I looked for comments about TARP. D'Souza said that Obama authorized the expansion of TARP funds, incongruent with liberal socialist dogma, the expansion was more about placing the government in greater control of the banking industry.  Sure enough I found it.
Dinesh was right, the bank has the money to repay the loans and the government will not let them do it.  A business knows better about what bills it can an cannot pay than any damned government employee.  Here we have a business that wants to repay and is not allowed while we have General Motors that will never repay and the government is pretending that they are repaying the load and giving tax breaks so that the next IPO looks good.  I owned GM stock and lost the whole nut, I'll never buy it again and try to stop anybody else that hints of it.  GM is the 21st century's Amtrak.

The Roots of Obama's Rage

A neighbor gave me this book to read a couple of weeks ago. I thought, 'oh geez' another crackpot. The surprise was that this is a book written by a respected National Review columnist who has a similar background. The theory presented is cogent and in some ways an epiphany.
Dinesh D'Souza is an Indian born writer, speaker, presidential advisor and current president of King's College located in New York.

The author proceeds through various theories as an attempt to explain the incongruent actions of President Obama. In this course D'Souza dismisses both the socialist and racist based motivations. He theorizes that President Obama's motivation comes from the work of his Kenyan economist father.   President Obama's own published book, Dreams from My Father, in the title describes how the man is seeking the goals set by the man he barely new.  The motivation is 'anti-colonialist', a theory born from the desire to gain freedom and autonomy from European settlers.  That theory suggests that all accumulated wealth is the result of oppressive usury methods therefore making the proceeds subject to up the full amount, 100%.  In the end its taxation theory, which has been proven to be an utter failure.  Those post-colonialist countries such as China, India and the United States have succeeded and those that have taken a more socialist direction have uniformly failed.

The thing that troubles with me on this theory is that, if true, the President most have plan of approach that requires both deceit and contempt. The contempt scares the crap out me.

Read the book, while it is unprovable, I think it well conceived, and can be used as a divining rod for predicting our President's actions.  Did find some negative reviews, some from the left and some from the right of our author.  As an aside, it is amusing to see how MediaMatters pretends to be an unbiased Snopes type web site.

Keith Olbermann

Saw this by way of GOPUSA. The MSNBC celebrity was suspended for not following company policy donating $7k+ to various Democratic contenders.  For myself, it does not matter to me how gives money to candidates.  The money he earned is his to use.
That MSNBC would suspend the man is wrong, especially in light of the rubish he spews on the air.
Olbermann is like a corporation board member trying to improve the value of his shares.
Proof of the cliche, "a fool and his money are soon parted", this fool doubled down on Democrats when everybody knew the dice were coming up red.  Listen to his segue on "universal solvent".  The man is a total dope, who should have stuck to sports.

Ya Think!

Coming out of the block the President is talking about compromise. Liberal he is and he is stuck there even if he wanted to move center, many Republicans were elected because they promised not to compromise, not to be RINO representatives. In the beginning the Democrats will feign conciliatory, but their goal from the beginning will be to get the committed to un-commit. On some level it probably has to happen, but I wish it wouldn't.
Bye the bye, I see that my least favorite representative, David Scott, won, and won big.
Looks like some voters in the Georgia's 13th Congressional district are victims of diversity.

Boxer Could Win

National Review article suggests that if the Democrats come out in Cali that Boxer should hold her seat in the Senate.
Makes sense, the whole lot of them should be returned to Mexico.

Lyle Sings the National Anthem

One of my favorite singers does a great job with the National Anthem at game four of the World Series. For me this ranks up there with Marvin Gaye at the NBA All Star game.

Quote du Jour

Another fold forwarded to me by the folks. Made an attempt to find proof on the internet and found none. Regardless, the premise is funny.

The following is the 2007 winning entry from an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.
That year's term was 'Political Correctness', the winner wrote...
"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a dog turd by the clean end."

Doctor Janda

The folks sent me a link to this video clip. Doctor Janda calmly explains some of the flaws he perceives to be within ObamaCare. My leanings side with the speaker, but truth is probably somewhere in between. Having a few doctors as neighbors, they agree that with the ways government seeks to direct care and set prices, there will be much less motivation for young people to enter the field of medicine. The incomes are diminishing, the risks are increasing and the interference becoming intolerable. Deciding to become a doctor in the United States is a serious investment of time and money, if there is no reward at the end of that journey, young people will turn to other careers.

I am adding a few links so that you can form you own opinion of the Rb Steele supporter, Dr. David H. Janda.
Read the comments, over the top and in some cases desperate.
