Boehner's Last Hurrah

Yes, John Boehner retired from the Speaker-ship and his House seat this week. The man is basically vilified by populist Republicans, he intentionally subjugated the Representatives that tried to act on the fervor of the Tea Party, the same group that he would not have had his leadership position without. I for one am glad that he's out, time to put a little counter balancing pressure on the President.

Congress.org presents MEGAVOTE September 21, 2015 for Georgia's 13th Congressional District.

Recent Congressional Votes

  • Senate: Iran Nuclear Agreement Disapproval Resolution ‘Shell’-- Cloture
  • House: Frivolous Lawsuit Sanctions
  • House: Planned Parenthood Funding Moratorium -- Passage
  • House: Failed Abortions -- Passage

Upcoming Congressional Bills

  • Senate: Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act
  • House: Quarterly Financial Report Reauthorization Act
  • House: Responsibly and Professionally Invigorating Development (RAPID) Act

Recent Senate Votes:
Iran Nuclear Agreement Disapproval Resolution ‘Shell’-- Cloture Vote Rejected (56-42, 2 Not Voting)
The Senate rejected a motion to invoke cloture on the McConnell, R-Ky., substitute amendment no. 2640, that would replace the measure with a joint resolution that would disapprove of the nuclear agreement reached with Iran by the United States and five other nations that was transmitted by the president to Congress on July 19, 2015, for purposes of prohibiting any waiver or suspension of statutory sanctions by the United States pursuant to the agreement.
Sen. Johnny Isakson voted YES
Sen. David Perdue voted YES
Congress fears President, Congress creates charade with false door, Congress pretends give a shit that the people are alarmed.

Recent House Votes:
Frivolous Lawsuit Sanctions Vote Passed (241-185, 8 Not Voting)
The House passed a bill that would change federal rules governing civil lawsuits to require federal courts to impose sanctions on parties that file frivolous civil lawsuits. The sanctions would need to include monetary payments to the other party to cover the other party's attorney fees and costs. The bill also would eliminate the so-called "safe harbor" clause by removing the ability of parties to withdraw or correct claims considered frivolous within 21 days of filing.
Rep. David Scott voted NO
I find it interesting that the members of the House would approve a plan that would penalize litigators. Don't trust it.

Planned Parenthood Funding Moratorium -- Passage Vote Passed (241-187, 1 Present, 5 Not Voting)
The House passed a bill that would bar, for one year, federal funding for Planned Parenthood and its affiliates unless they certify that, during that period, they will not perform abortions or provide funds to other entities that perform abortions. The prohibition would apply to all federal funds, including Medicaid. The bill would provide exceptions for abortions provided in the case of rape, incest, or threat to the life of the mother.
Rep. David Scott voted NO
Won;t make it through the Senate, even if it did the President would veto it. I think they ought to make the bastard go through the motions.

Failed Abortions -- Passage Vote Passed (248-177, 1 Present, 8 Not Voting)
The House passed a bill that would require health care practitioners to give the same level of care to an infant born alive during a failed abortion as they would give to any other infant born at the same gestational age. The bill also would require health care practitioners to ensure that these infants are immediately sent to a hospital.
Rep. David Scott voted NO
Yeah this thing will die in the Senate, heaven forbid they made the President put his name on paper to veto anything. There has been a lot of hyperbole on this subject, the bride thinks it's fabricated by the Pro -Life crowd. Me, am pretty sure it happens in limited frequency. While generally respecting the decision of Roe versus Wade as a social practicality, I think there should be a line drawn at the point that baby can survive with medical assistance.

Upcoming Votes:
Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act - HR36
The Senate is expected to consider a motion to proceed to HR 36, a bill that would ban most abortions after 20 weeks.
This is something I would support, will pass the house, not the Senate.

Quarterly Financial Report Reauthorization Act - HR3116
The bill would extend by 15 years the authority of the Secretary of Commerce to conduct the quarterly financial report program.
Financial reports by people who have no interest in accountability. Ironic.

Responsibly and Professionally Invigorating Development (RAPID) Act - HR348
The bill would provide for improved coordination of agency actions in the preparation and adoption of environmental documents for permitting determinations, and for other purposes.
Why bother, fast tracked dudes only need a push from the right corrupt politician, that means any politician.

Seems Severe

When you read this array of punishments prescribed, things in North America do not seem so bad.
In the middle east many of the current western issues are not open to discussion, let alone debate.
It bears adding that some of these stringent rules are waived when the victim is Jewish or Christian.

No western politician is going to solve it either.
The current flock of refugees entering Europe, if experience serves, do not want to assimilate, they, for the most part, just want to have an economic chance of survival, for the worst part a minority wants to travel undetected so they can kill.
Xenophobic, or not, I am against making special provisions for letting these folks into the United States.  Members of the EU should follow the same protective posture. The problem needs to be solved by Islamic reformation and that will not happen as long as the pressure is allowed to be dissipated over peaceful western countries.  Things will have to be much worse before the internal need to reform will grow.

San Franciscan Nights

Always loved the song by the Animals.
The bride and I have this on the bucket list of places to visit.
Maybe we won't make that visit for a little while yet.
Judicial Watch: San Francisco Crime Surge – Homicide Arrests up 55%, Rapes Arrests up 370%

The Judicial Watch article included...
In response to a request for details on the U.S. citizenship status of the offenders, Nicco informed Judicial Watch: “This information is not tracked by the Jail Management System.”
Despite the increased arrests for violent crimes, the overall arrest rate has plunged by 42 percent according to Max Szabo, spokesman for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
In 2013, the San Francisco’s Sheriff and City Council expanded San Francisco’s infamous illegal alien sanctuary policies.  The City changed policies and passed an ordinance that required San Francisco law enforcement to ignore most U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers.  These detainers required San Francisco authorities to hold detained illegal alien criminals until federal authorities could determine whether to take them into custody.
“Citizens understand that when San Francisco and other sanctuary cities release illegal alien criminals onto the streets, crime is going to increase,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.  “These new crime statistics suggest that there are more murders and an epidemic of rape linked to San Francisco’s releasing illegal alien criminals in violation of law.”
In 2011, because of Judicial Watch’s work, San Francisco was ordered to end its sanctuary policy that protected aliens arrested for certain drug offenses from being reported to ICE.  The organization is now investigating whether the city violated the law again with its sanctuary policy that led to the release of Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, an illegal immigrant deported five times and who allegedly gunned down Kate Steinle at one of the most popular tourist spots in San Francisco.
Of course they have violated the court order, the President supports its and Justice Department only has interest in applying its force to issues that belong emotionally to the left.

Let's Hide The Fact That Congress

Does not give a damn what the public wants.....

Congress.org  presents the MEGAVOTE for September 14, 2015 and Georgia's 13th district.

Recent Congressional Votes:
  • Senate: Iran Nuclear Agreement Disapproval Resolution 'Shell' - Cloture
  • House: Iran Nuclear Agreement Approval – Passage
  • House: Delay Iran Nuclear Sanctions Relief -- Passage
Upcoming Congressional Bills
  • Senate: Hire More Heroes Act of 2015
  • House: Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015

Recent Senate Votes:

Iran Nuclear Agreement Disapproval Resolution 'Shell' - Cloture Vote Rejected (58-42)
This smells like a resolution vote designed to give Senators coverage during the next election. Too bad dudes because as far as I am concerned, you should be physically filibustering this to kill the agreement or anything that revolves around it. Have already decided that I will vote for whoever runs against you in the next primary. You are both dead to me.

Recent House Votes:

Iran Nuclear Agreement Approval – Passage Vote Failed (162-269, 1 Present, 1 Not Voting)
The House rejected a bill that would express Congress' approval of the Iran nuclear agreement signed on July 14, 2015 between United States, Iran and five other nations.
Rep. David Scott voted NO
More of the same, coverage votes for pussies who won't take credit for abetting the enemy, which they have done. At least David Scott stands with is party and while he represents little that I believe in, this agreement is just the sort of thing he does believe in.

Delay Iran Nuclear Sanctions Relief -- Passage Vote Passed (247-186)
The House passed a bill that would delay until Jan. 21, 2017, the authority of the president to waive, suspend, or reduce existing sanctions on Iran or on Iranian officials or individuals slated to be granted relief from sanctions under the Iran nuclear agreement.
Rep. David Scott voted NO
The whole process is a freaking waste of time, Congress would upset the apple cart if they had any conviction. Truth is they want this thing, despite what the voting public has made clear they want. A clear example of the disconnect between government and he governed.

Upcoming Votes:

Hire More Heroes Act of 2015 - H.J.Res.61
The legislation is the expected vehicle for a joint resolution that would disprove of the Iran nuclear agreement. The resolution would amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exempt employees with health coverage under TRICARE or the Veterans Administration from being taken into account for purposes of determining the employers to which the employer mandate applies under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Slam dunk stuff, allows congressmen to be visibly for the veteran, all the while knowingly screwing them over on the finances. How's that investigation of the VA going.  Chickenshit bastards.

Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015 - H.R.3134
The bill would provide for a moratorium on federal funding to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc.
This might pass the house, but won't see they light of day in the Senate, McConnell is new Harry Reid. The Senate majority leader has already said this has no chance. Wonder how the folks in Kentucky feel about re-electing him now.

Just About Enough

The opinions of wanting commentators.

Watching television coverage of political contests has become a pastime time forgotten for me. So often these are simply vehicles that allow "experts" to extrapolate comments into issues.
In the end, they speak neither of news nor commentary on what is actually said.
Joe Scarborough Has Had Just About Enough Of This 'Jesus' | Truth Revolt
Most of this is not worth listening to.
Ben Carson is a prospective candidate for President, primaries have not even started.
If Joe Scarborough want to talk about Russians in Syria, the conversation should be about the President and Congress. Until Carson becomes President, or people have the imminent opportunity to vote on who will be President, what he has to say is not nearly as important what those in power have to say and more importantly do.
That said what they will do is....nothing.
The President doesn't have the inclination and the Congress doesn't have the balls.

Sharia Law School to be Studied at Yale

For ten million dollars Yale proves that they are no different than politicians.
If there is a handout, they will take it.
If it means bending the rules for a society on the fringe of barbarism, they will dismiss the reality.

The Anti-Michelle Obama

It is too bad that a positive article has to catch attention by highlighting a person she is unlike.

Meet Candy Carson: The Anti-Michelle Obama

From the gist of the article, it seems that Candy Carson is made of the same stuff as here husband, not unlike Condoleezza Rice.

Saw Michelle Malkin in a restaurant a few weeks ago, she talking with one of 60 Minutes hosts, she's no bigger than a nubbin.
