If the Democrats had their way, the United States would would be subordinate to such extra-national courts, forcing the citizens to accept and integrate hordes of aliens.
In may ways this does parallel the way the US federal system treats states.
Foreigners are accepted by the federal government and placed in states according to some unknown process which the states do not participate in.
