Is She an Eskimo?
A conservative, pro-life woman should grab additional moderate Democrats while pleasing the right edge of the party. Of course the Allen Combs of the world will demonize her for her beliefs, but no different than a man in the same position and having the same record.
McCain had my vote anyway, this makes me happier about it.

Crank
The plot is simple enough, professional assassin Chev Chelios's rival has injected him with a poison that will kill him if his heart rate drops. The entire movie is a frenetic race to find an antidote, Chev doing anything possible to keep the heart rate up, including running, fighting, drugs, sex and more drugs.
The actors were......
- Jason Statham as Chev Chelios, now I'm embarrassed
- Amy Smart as Eve, Chev's girlfriend and space cadet. Ms. Smart has been in many tier two movies, and in my research found that she has already finished the sequel to this gem.
- Jose Pablo Cantillo as Verona, the Hispanic bad guy.
- Carlos Sanz as Carlito, another little brown bad guy.
- Efren Ramirez as Kaylo the gay Hispanic side kick. I didn't think that there were any gay Hispanics. Efren was great in Napoleon Dynamite.
- Dwight Yoakam plays Doc Miles, Chev's doctor. I will forever enjoy Dwight in Sling Blade but really wish that he would concentrate more on the music.
Score 11 of 50, don't waste your money, don't see the sequel. A real piece of crap.
- Character development 1 of 10.
- Writing 2 of 10.
- Photography 3 of 10.
- Acting 2 of 10.
- Concept 3 of 10, borrowed, adapted, lame.

Polk
Published by Random House, 359 pages long, written by Walter R. Borneman and copyrighted in 2008.
Pronounced "poke", like the salad.
James K. Polk was the was the eleventh President of the United States, serving from 1845 to 1849. Born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, but for most of his life a resident of Tennessee. Polk was considered to be one of President Andrew Jackson's protegees, a group the also included Sam Houston and President Martin Van Buren. Elected as a Democrat, he served as a Representative for seven terms and Speaker of the House for the last two of those. Later as Governor of Tennessee for a single term starting in 1839 and ending in 1841, a post which he lost re-election to and another rematch election just prior to becoming president.
When considering approval of budgets including what is commonly known as pork...
"To call the mouth of a creek or a shallow inlet on our coast a harbor can not confer the authority to expend the public money in its improvement."and
"Should this bill become law, the principle which it establishes will lead inevitably to large and annually increasing appropriations and drains upon the Treasury, for it is not the be doubted that numerous other localities not embraced in its provisions...will demand, through their representatives in Congress, to be placed on an equal footing with them."Polk's interpretation of the Constitution had no provisions for internal improvements within the states. It is clear that this president had enough intuition to predict what has become the favorite pastime of our elected national politicians, spending money to buy votes and shape constituencies.
Polk's presidency was formed around five commitments, all of which were delivered.
- To hold the office of president for only one term of four years.
- To secure the Oregon Territory as belonging to the United States, increasing the area of the country by 285,000 square miles.
- To secure expansion of United States westward into California, which was accomplished through the Mexican American War, adding some 525,000 square miles.
- To annex the independent Republic of Texas into the United States as a state.
- To restore the Independent Treasury System, under which government funds were held in the Treasury rather than in banks or other financial institutions.
The ultimate post drained the man, by the time Polk left office in March of 1849 the person had aged considerably, evidenced (first president to be photographed) by weight loss, deep lines on his face and dark circles under his eyes. Only 103 days after leaving office died at his new home, Polk Place, in Nashville, Tennessee. Polk's last words showed his devotion to wife Sarah, "I love you, Sarah. For all eternity, I love you."
Polk was president during time when the abolition movement was gaining and the polarity between north and south increasing. As a wealthy landowner of Tennessee, this man did own slaves. This cold hearted obituary should have served notice on the growing enmity over slavery.
This was a good book, that I enjoyed and recommend. As new as it is, you'll have to purchase the hardback, it was worth it for me.The death of the late Ex-President of the United States is announced to have taken place last Friday night, near Nashville, Tennessee. His complaint was chronic diarrhea. The transition from the Presidential chair to the grave has been swift and startling. Neither humanity, nor justice, nor liberty, has any cause to deplore the event. He probably died an unrepentant man-stealer. His administration has been a curse to the country, which will extend to the latest posterity.
William Lloyd Garrison
No Water For You (Chapter 3)
The kind bureaucrats of our county government say that after careful study "we've decided to keep all of your money".
Careful study my ass.
My bride has offered to call and ask for a re-review.
Keep you posted.

I'm voting Democrat because . . .
job of spending the money I earn than I would.
I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody
is offended by it.
I'm voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq, I trust that the
bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good
people.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if
it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt
away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of
millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be
allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give
the rest away to the employees and to the government.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe three or four pointy headed
elitist liberals need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit
some fringe kooks who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.
I'm voting Democrat because I like it when planes fly into buildings
full of civilians. I want to see more of that.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that when the terrorists don't
have to hide from us over there, when they come over here I don't want
to have any guns in the house to fight them.
I'm voting Democrat because I don't want a stimulus check to spend. Let
the government spend it for me. I'm voting Democrat because I love the
fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I'm going to marry my TV.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4-6% on
a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of
gas at 15% isn't.
Thank you Ricky

10 Years Ago Today
The terrorist attacks killed 224 people, including 12 Americans, wounding more than 4,500. The United States assigned responsibility to Saudi exile Osama bin Laden and on August 20, President Bill Clinton ordered cruise missiles launched against al Qaeda terrorist training camps. Also hit was pharmaceutical plant in Sudan, where bin Laden was reported to have made and distributed chemical weapons from.
The media reported that the factory manufactured aspirin or something like that. Conservative Americans were disappointed with the antiseptic approach to retribution. Liberal Americans railed against the innocent civilians that were collateral damage. Both groups were probably correct, what we do know now is that the retaliatory strikes did not kill or deter the enemy. Three years later al Qaeda killed thousands at the World Trade Center, Pentagon and Pennsylvania.

What You Got In Your Pocket?
One of the presidential candidates is suggesting the top income tax rate increase from 35% to 39.5% a12.8% increase for top wage earners. Do you think Paul will appreciate it? No, Paul will not appreciate it, because to a slack jawed minimum wage earner there is no success ever to be had, they are doomed to be where they already are. Furthermore this jug eared soap box speaker wants to significantly increase the capital gains tax. If these dimocrats get their way you can guarantee that investment impetus will evaporate, causing drag on the stock markets, 401K plans will start to under perform, then the baby boomers will start demanding assistance from the government, who will in turn look back to those that have won life's lottery, motivated successful earners. Let's look in your pocket for money some dipshit needs to buy chips beer and lotto tickets.A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul.
