Liberal Self Loathing

Have said it before, the American liberal psyche, for white folks not in the ruling class, is based on, built upon, self loathing.
This article is a perfect expression of that.
The Campus Reform web site titled.....

The University of Vermont's Center for Cultural Pluralism held a three-day retreat so students could confront their “white privilege.”

The conference is described a vehicle for helping students how to live with their "whiteness".
Statements about the conference are conceptual and pretty narrow in scope, there is little description of the conference machinations....

• “recognize and understand white privilege from an individual experience”
• “conceptualize and articulate whiteness from a personal and systematic lense as well as the impact of white privilege on the UVM community and beyond.”
• “What does it mean to be white?”
• “How does whiteness impact you?”

Other papers offered by the center include....

• "The Invention of the White Race," 
• "White Privilege, Male Privilege in Race, Class, Gender," 
• "The Feminist Classroom," 
• "The Abolition of Whiteness."

This is not the first such conference, the same article reports a precedent conference held at Mount St. Mary’s in Los Angeles California.
First of all, if I found out that me son was taking a class focused on feelings, and having no preparatory value to a career, there would be an impact statement made making clear that if you waste your time and my money on that bullshit, you might as well go ahead and get a job right now, because the money is cut off.
Why in the world would a person spend time and money on something that teaches its participants ways to feel guilty about how they were born. There is enough hate and self loathing in the world without creating new cases out of thin air.
Total crap it is.

This is not intended to be dumping on the web site, which for the most part seems to be reporting the campus news.
