During the campaign I religiously read the New York Times website. Within the comments on editorials I found that the readership overwhelmingly agreed with the paper's editorial positions. This suggests that they are giving their audience the product they desire. The classlessness of of the comments, especially directed at Sarah Palin also indicates that publication has a symbiotic relationship with its target audience. The writing is top notch but the position is not tuned with center America. It is unfortunate that the paper carries so much influence on a national level, except for the quality of writing, it is no more informative than the dimocratic party's talking points.

ReplyDeleteThe whole nature of the disclosures being attributed to unidentified sources, this does smack of elitism and perhaps a torpedo job on her future in national politics. The suggestions put forth are absurd and unlikely to be accurate. While is likely that Palin did make statements that suggested ignorance, I would propose that we all make statements that we regret but in no way represent what we are. The press releases by undisclosed sources smell like an attempt to torpedo Palin's future in national politics. They may have suceeded, such tags are hard to shake (eg Dan Quayle).
ReplyDeleteAs to the New York Times, I was referring to a different type of behavior, that being mean and vulgar. Behavior that throughout the race was attributed to McCain‘s campaign and was not true, McCain did direct and instruct to stop poor behavoir while Obama let his people run amuck.

This wouldn't hold up on a simple tress pass charge...I know that reporters keep their leaks quiet…however, what video or recorded proof was released??? Anything??? Hell, I still hear the Nixon tapes or hear of some DNA found on a blue dress??? What has surfaced that even hint's that this is true???
