ACORN Officials Charged In Nevada

During the last presidential campaign there were many rumors of illegal activities within ACORN.  ACORN is one of the community activist organizations the then candidate Obama was a member.

None of this is proof of any wrong doing by our President, only an indictment of some of his co-workers.

By way of Townhall.com we have the story....
ACORN Pleads Not Guilty in Nevada Election Conspiracy Case
ACORN and former ACORN executive Amy Busefink pleaded not guilty today to illegally paying canvassers to register Nevada voters in the 2008 presidential campaign.
A trial has been set for April 19 of next year. The date may be changed as an attorney reported a scheduling conflict.

Lawyers for ACORN and Busefink say they plan to challenge the constitutionality of the Nevada state law.
The prosecution’s star witness is expected to be former ACORN Las Vegas field director Christopher Edwards. Charged with election fraud by Nevada’s Democratic attorney general, he cut a deal with prosecutors and has pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit the crime of compensation for registration of voters.

It seems true that ACORN was paying for registration productivity, and firing for lack of same.  Guilty pleas are already in place and the subordinates are now testifying against the executives.  The temptation here is to presume that ACORN executives are all of like philosophical mind, therefore all tactily endorse illegal manipulation of voters.

Attached is link to Adobe pdf copy of the Criminal Complaint.

My own opinion on this topic are that ACORN has an "ends justify the means" attitude.  That as being that advocates of the poor, justifies any action that obtains benefits for the poor.  The power derived by those advocates is simply a benefit for doing good deeds, a moral equivalent to Mother Theresa.  Not far off the mark considering the last award.
