Running of Outhouses Draws Stiff Competition in Michigan

Up north, when people get bored, they do some strange things.
I wonder, if some kid wins, do they keep the outhouse in perpetuity, sort of like my son keeping his Pinewood Derby cars.  He won three years in a row, by the way, the Pinewood Derby that is.

  1. For some reason the link is inactive, however being from the “Once Great State of Michigan” I think I can read between the lines… These are NOT outhouses… This is an Ice Shanty… People up north, not to be confused with anyone south of, let’s say Grayling are resourceful, it was our soap box derby. I was proud of my shanty; drug it to the best spot on Black Lake!!! The weather I used to just deal with and enjoyed it. I find it as an overwhelming pain in the butt now!!! BTW…ever been ice fishing??? Talk about boring…
