I signed up for the updates from this DREAM ACTIVIST pro-immigration network, just to see what they are pitching. Twenty year from now lets hope that I don't get caught up in some kind of McCarthyesque witch hunt intended to segregate those that opposed porous borders.
Anyway the story here is that four kids were arrested and jailed because they want to impress upon Indiana Governor Dainels the need to veto a bill that will preclude undocumented youth (aka illegal aliens) from receiving in-state tuition benefits.
So, the logic in this is that we have out-of state student that, say from Connecticut, that wants to attend the University of Indiana in Bloomington. He has to pay more than legal citizens of Indiana for the education he desires. But, say that student walked across the border, trudging his feet through the Rio Grande, he should be given better fiscal opportunity than the student from Connecticut?
This situation illiuminates the reason the border should be closed and amnesty made impossible. The people have come here for the subsidized things that Mexico does not have. They want what we pay for.
The state is not even saying that the students cannot attend, which in itself could be argued as a form of sanctuary, itself an immoral abuse of citizen rights and taxpayer expense. No, the state is just saying that they will have to pay the higher rate.
For that these bratty children are willing to go to jail.
Governor Daniels, please do not veto HB1402.
