So why did the American Civil Liberties Union oppose a Republican nominee to the Supreme Court and argue for a presumption of guilt regarding sexual allegations directed against that judicial nominee?
When the ACLU sent me mail requesting funds for fighting the election campaign of George W. Bush, they made clear that they were not interested in the free give and take of political speech, they were picking sides and choosing to represent the words and objectives of only liberals.
The ACLU is interested only in the free speech of people with their own preferences.
