Voters Believe Overwhelmingly That Politicians Don’t Keep Their Promises, and Most Say It’s Deliberate

These are just opinion polls people are being asked for opinions of something unprovable.
In the end it means nothing.
That 4 of 5 believe politicians are mostly concerned with re-election is pretty damning.
In a survey last December, 79% of voters said most politicians are more concerned with getting reelected than in doing what is right.
The higher trust factor of Democrats may be related to the previous statement. Independents and Republicans are judging based on the practices of the dominant Democratic party. The best recent examples is the Obama presidential campaign. Obama ran with a vague centrist tone, while their base knew it wall all bulls..t. The unsaid intent from the beginning was to further the Democrat principle of increased government control. When Republican candidates and pundits spoke of the understood but unsaid intents, they were labeled as racists and extremists.
I am not suggesting that Republicans are not equally capable of such deception, they are and do. The Democrats are the ones that have been winning the fight, so they get the mistrust along with the acclaim.
One big difference between Democrats and Republicans will always be big vs small government.
Pick you poison, I have.
