65% Say Those Who Hire Illegal Immigrants Bigger Problem Than Immigrants Themselves

The numbers are pretty staggering and judging by the high percentage, crosses common parties boundaries. In the state of Georgia HB 87 flew through the house only to stall in the senate. Aggressive fax campaigns and phone calls to the senators and lt-gov Casey Cagle pushed through what they were clearly tempted to bury. Business, primarily from lower state agricultural concerns want to keep using the cheap labor. After passage through both houses, the bill languished on the Governor's desk for a couple of weeks, no doubt he was hearing the resistance from the business community. Again pressure prevailed upon these men to do what they campaigned to do.
This poll is also very interesting highlighting the disparity between mainstream and political class voter groups. Generally considered as more politically involved, the political class, might be better described as bureaucrats and liberal-progressives, both groups posture themselves as superior to the mainstream and deserving of special preferences and exemptions in legislation.
I really enjoyed this poll, please follow the link for more information.
