Importand Anniversary Attended by One

Selma's National Voting Rights Museum planned a 45th anniversary rally celebrating the signing of the Civil Rights Act. This was to be held on Thursday August 5rd.
See link to Selma Times-Journal article.
Important stuff, wouldn't you think?  Olimatta Taal, interim executive director thought so.
“We’re expecting people to come out in numbers to the event,” she said. “We just want the people of Selma to come out and support. We want to preserve the Civil Rights Act and the voting movement. Our doors are open to everyone.”
Purpose is noble enough.  Evidently the rally didn't inspire too many.  It inspired one person, Allison Bender, of Birmingham, who showed up to the event.

One.

That it was on a week night surely did not help. Chances are the word didn't get spread like it should. In the end, people didn't really give enough of a crap to show up.  I take this to be a good sign, despite the efforts of Obama and Holder to promote black demogogery.  In many ways America has become "post-racial".

By the way, Allison Bender is white.
