Honeycutt Mentioned in Article

From DGJ......
The below article was written where it mention's Dr. Honeycutt as the likely GOP nominee. Read the third paragraph.
When Michael Steele sought the chairmanship of the Republican National Committee, he produced a glossy “Blueprint” outline for moving his party forward in a productive and positive manner. As a Black moderate, I was hopeful that the brother would do for their team what Obama would be doing for our team.
Then, the anger started and that blueprint because a footnote. Or did it? In South Carolina, Republican Nikki Haley took the high ground and is on her way to joining Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal as Indian Americans in governorships. State Rep. Tim Scott is an African-American who defeated Strom Thrumond’s son for the GOP nod for congress. The Low County of South Carolina is evidentially Scottland.
Georgia has two “Scottland” battles with Black Watch monitoring closely. In military history, the Black Watch is the name of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland. Of course, they worn the Black and Green tartan we came to love while rocking the preppy look in the early 80s and ordering from L.L. Bean. In Georgia’s 13th congressional district, Rep. David Scott faces a primary challenge from grassroots candidate Michael Murphy and Michael Frisbee before facing likely GOP nominee Dr. Deborah Honeycutt. Murphy speaks about our state’s future with wisdom and concern. Honeycutt should give Democrat leaders nightmares because she manages to go from Tea Party event to Black suburbs to the inner city without missing a beat.
The central concern for moderates this election is finding officials who support the middle class while working with everyone for real dialog and real results. Honeycutt could be the model for selecting African-American women with positive dispositions who firmly speak about the limited role of government rather than more programs and Band-Aids.
The other “Scottland” battle in Georgia pits Rep. Jim Marshall against Austin Scott. Readers of this blog know that I questioned Marshall’s commitment to the Democrat Party and felt he should have taken the highland by attending the Democrat National Convention event that nominated Barrack Obama. Black “watched” that occur and wondered if Dem officials were asleep on their watch. Austin Scott is a Republican who remains conservative while connecting with young people and occasionally working across party lines. In Georgia, the Blue Dogs have gotten us familiar with such cooperation so considering Deborah Honeycutt, Austin Scott or the GOP challenger to Rep. John Barrow seems natural.

The media loves the drama of the Tea Party but Colin Powell spoke of the sensible center. If the GOP spent some time, energy and resources, Michael Steele could have candidates with a better comfort level in all communities. It’s time to gift a few congressional seats to our GOP friends who supported Obama and the gift to the president will be a congress more like the average American.

Do Your Job Mr.President

The Federal government asks for $600,000,000.00 to strengthen local enforcement. This, we all know, is money not intended to solve the problem, but to make passage safer for the intruders. Much like President Obama sending 1,200 Reservist to the area but keeping them away from the border.
Here is an idea that would work. Fort Bliss will be expanding with addition of elements of the 3rd Army. Based from this center, use the Army to run border patrols from the Texas to California shores. If you want to strengthen the internal security of Mexico, run yearly joint exercises on the border. This is already performed in South Korea, Europe, and Saudi Arabia on a yearly basis. This would work, borders get closed, Mexico's internal apparatus gains status by its cooperation and in turn strength against the drug cartels. This would work if exercised in the spirit of closing the border, rather than making passage safer for the illegals.
Of course we know it would never happen, the executive branch does not have the balls to do anything real

Governor Brewer has been shown contempt by the President and his staff, Napolitano included. This woman smeared regularly by the media and Democratic Congressmen, for what, seeking safety?

Candidate for governor And sex with mules

DGJ liked the story about Byron such much, he sent me a link to this article.

A candidate for governor admits to sex with farm animals and watermelons.

Georgia candidate for governor says sex with mules, watermelon behind him

You have to love Georgia politics.
No doubt the play for office is a farce, but this interview is fun.

"Absolutely. I was a fool. When you grow up on a farm in Georgia, your first girlfriend is a mule."
I did not grow up in Georgia.
"No, that's why I'm running for Governor because I don't have any skeletons in my closet," he says. " I’ve talked about things people would never have talked about. Any skeletons I have, I take them out and rattle them around."
Too bad the rattle doesn't scare the pip squeak David Scott off.
"What kinds of things?" I ask.

Without missing a beat, he says, "You know what you’re thinking about has been out there..."

"We're talking about the mule now?"
Yes, he says. The mule.

"A small mule?" I ask.
Now the reporter is showing some interest.

"No, a full grown mule," he says. "She loved me, though."
We both laugh, but I'm still trying to figure out the logistics. How big is this thing? The size of a horse, he says.In the mouth pervert.
"All I had to do was give her an ear of corn." He laughs again. "She was a [prostitute] mule."

"How did you reach?"
"I don't know... I stood on something. The kicker is, as soon as I was done she pissed all over me. It was embarrassing. I never told anyone that before."
He should have given her two ears of corn.
"I've [screwed] a watermelon," he says. And that's just for starters. He's had sex with just about everything it's physically possible to have sex with, and some that isn't. "How many times have I masturbated in my life?" he asks. Now he's 65 and orgasm-free for two years (his wife finally divorced him -- too much "drama", she said). "The bottom line is, I never treated it as if it were not a sin."
No flies rest on this man, he has the conscience of Bill Clinton.

How tall is a mule?

Byron Jordan Got Caught Having Sex With Horses

No kidding he smelled bad, this is pretty darned gross.
I would have bet the farm that it was a white man.
Go figure.
What do you do with a guy like this, send him to prison, send him to the funny house, turn him into a gelding?

Tired of Knocking Sounds Under the Hood?

Last week troopers at a Virginia sobriety checkpoint heard a knocking in the trunk of a stopped car and heard knocking in the back.  The driver was asked by the policeman what was in the trunk and was told it was a goat.
When the trunk was opened, the temperature was found to be high and the goat was panting.
The goat was taken to the pound.
The driver, Fiona Ann Enderdy, a Kenyan, claimed that such conveyance was acceptable in the United Kingdom.
She was charged with cruelty to animals and released.
There were three more Kenyans in the car too, guess they were all headed to a barbecue and wanted to tenderize the meat.
What's with this 'ok in the UK' crap?
Does that mean this is a regular trip kind of thing, sort of like Enderdy and Kumar go to White Castle?
Back in Kenya, its not a problem, the goat can breath because he's strapped to the back of a camel, a warthog, Idi Amin or whatever.

Chambliss Responding to my message

He's one of the good guys on many of my pet peeves, but can't really tell where he's headed here.  My guess is the other way.

Dear XXX:

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 915, the "FAA Reauthorization Act of 2009," and the Express Carrier Employee Protection provision.  It is good to hear from you.

In 1996, a provision in the FAA Reauthorization bill that became law permitted delivery companies that were "express carriers" to be covered under the Railway Labor Act (RLA).  Express carriers were defined as companies that have an integrated network of air and surface transportation for express shipment packages.  Such companies that are classified as express carriers are covered under the RLA and not the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), which other package delivery companies fall under.

The proposed Express Carrier Employee Protection provision would remove such express carriers from being governed by the RLA.  It would enable certain employees of these aforementioned express carriers to organize under the NLRA.  Should this legislation come before the Senate, I will keep your thoughts in mind.

Weekend Assignment

Again from DGJ....

The kids filed back into class Monday morning. They were very excited.
Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship.
Little Sally led off: "I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30," she said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success."
"Very good," said the teacher.
Little Jenny was next:
"I sold magazines," she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events."
"Very good, Jenny," said the teacher.

Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn.

The teacher held her breath ...

Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467," he said.

"$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?"

"Toothbrushes," said Little Johnny.

"Toothbrushes!" echoed the teacher, "How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?"

"I found the busiest corner in town," said Little Johnny, "I set up a Dip & Chip stand and gave everybody who walked by a free sample."

They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog shit!"

Then I would say,"It is dog shit. Wanna buy a toothbrush?"

"I used the governmental approach of giving you something shitty for free, and then making you pay to get the taste out of your mouth."

***ALERT*** Older men scam!

Thank you DGJ….
Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it.

A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular customers at Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, or even Wal-Mart. This one caught me totally by surprise. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends.

Here's how the scam works:

Two nice-looking, college-aged girls will come over to your car or truck as you are packing your purchases into your vehicle. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. (It's impossible not to look). When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' but instead ask for a ride to McDonald's.

You agree and they climb into the vehicle. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen Mar. 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th, & 29th. Also Apr. 1st & 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th & 27th, and very likely again this upcoming weekend.

So tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of us older men. Warn your friends to be vigilant.

Wal-Mart has wallets on sale for $2.99 each. I found even cheaper ones for $.99 at the dollar store and bought them out in three of their stores.

Also, you never get to eat at McDonald's. I've already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth from Lowe's, to Home Depot, to Costco, Etc.

So please, send this on to all the older men that you know and warn them to be on the lookout for this scam. (The best times are just before lunch and around 4:30 in the afternoon.)

12% See Secession Attempt as Very Likely

This stuff cracks me up.
It won't happen, I would put myself in the 70% that think this would be bad for the country.
Can you imagine confusion that our President must be experiencing, seeing the number of citizens desiring secession increasing.
This reflects a commonly held core belief that Americans are individuals who strengthen the country by achieving personal goals.
Americans resist supplication.
When Americans are faced with obstacles, in this case our government, they look for a more efficient path, in this case to start fresh. This is a big rason why I support the FairTax, sort of like hitting the tax reset button. On this grander scale hitting the Constitutional reset button.
Most experienced working citizens see that socialism is ineffective, they do not want it, or to pay for it.
If the federal government continues to igore trespassing illegal aliens, increase union membership through artificial means, raise taxes, confiscate businesses, obiliterate relgious recognition, control carbon usage, control the health industry, add diversity chair men to Federal Reserve Banks and on and on, they can rest assured that they will make clear the will of the people is being ignored, and increase the numbers of the disassected wanting secesion.

HR 915

He was concerned, but he voted for it anyway.
Well, at least he cares.

Dear XXXXXXXXXXXX:
Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 915, the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act of 2009. I appreciate your thoughts on this issue.
As you know, H.R. 915 would authorize appropriations for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for fiscal years 2009 through 2012. The measure would also propose improvements to public safety and capacity, and provide stable funding for the national aviation system. The authorized funding would support airport planning and development and noise compatibility planning program, and air navigation facilities and equipment. Additionally, operations, research, and engineering conducted by the FAA would be supported by the funding. Specifically, the reauthorization would grant a rise in passenger facility charge cap to $7.00, a $100 million per year increase to Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding, and at least $200 million annually in Essential Air Service funding.
H.R. 915 would also amend the Railway Labor Act to provide coverage for express carrier employees who are licensed airmen, aircraft maintenance technicians, or aircraft dispatchers. Additionally, all other express carrier employees would be covered by the provisions of the National Labor Relations Act. The legislation defines an express carrier as that whose business is the express shipment of freight or packages through an integrated series of network of air and surface transportation. Section 303 the bill also requires the FAA to conduct at least two annual inspections at each of 698 certificated repair stations available for use by U.S. air carriers outside the U.S. In response to this provision, I joined with several of my House colleagues in expressing concern over this section in a letter to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. The section of the bill could threaten the 2008 Bilateral Aviation Administration Safety Agreement signed between the U.S. and Europe, and could threaten U.S. jobs tied to the aviation industry. Despite my concern, Section 303 remained in the final version of the legislation the House considered for a vote.
The House of Representatives approved H.R. 915 by a vote of 277-136 on May 21, 2009, and the bill is awaiting consideration by the Senate. If the House has an opportunity to consider legislation affecting aviation in the future, I will certainly keep your thoughts in mind.
Again, I thank you for sharing your views with me. I hope you will continue to give me the benefit of your opinion in the future. In addition, I encourage you to visit my web site at http://davidscott.house.gov, where you can view the latest news and obtain information on issues and legislation that is important to you. You can also sign up for my electronic newsletter, and receive periodic updates on my activities as your representative in Washington. Thank you again for contacting me, and I look forward to continuing to serve you.

Mo Power, Mo Ability

As the host says….
Then the audience of young democrats was blessed with comments from this left-most liberal.
“one of my heroes, doing incredible work in Congress, I don't need to say anything else, he's Barney Frank”

Within the above video Barney makes the comment…
Let's parse this comment made honorable representative.
"You can reach out to your fellow young people, and make it clear to them that, where they may not be satisfied with everything we've done... the way to cure that is to give us more authority and more ability"
  • You can reach out to you fellow young people = please try to convince some of your inexperienced government educated to blindly follow our leadership
  • and make clear to them = demand blind obedience
  • where they may not be satisfied =  young people are, more often than not, never satisfied, therefore because they are not dissatisfied, we feel your pain and wish we could do all you want even though we have little to no interest in satisfying you, when you are older, an d forming opinions based on experience you might leave us, we know you might (MIGHT) learn.
  • everything we've done = see President Obama, see socialism, see Putin.
  • the way to cure that is = suggesting that he already knows the solution, which we all know is not true
  • to give us more authority =  that's the way socialists roll, define the problem, never solve the problem, always say that we are not doing enough of the solution we recommend.
  • and more ability = this is weird, how do you give ability, how do you transfer ability, is it by wishing, does this harken the the famous line "to each according to his need, from each according to his ability" perhaps he means that the fruits of ability need to be transferred.
Let's face it, Barney Frank has the moral equivalency to a Tiger Woods.  He had boyfriends on as federal employees, paid to be available for whatever.  He pushed the federal lending institutions into giving loans to people who could not afford it, then has spent the last two years trying to pin responsibility on Bush.   Barney Frank is a joke. AHOTW.

Opposition to the "Brown Bailout"

This is a copy of letter sent to my favorite Obama sychophant.
You little ass kisser, time to be voted out of office.
A perfect example, by the way of how an unrestrained government can favor one compny over another.
They SHOULD NOT be helping either UPS or FedEx.

Thank you for using  Mail System.
Message sent to the following recipients:
Representative Scott
Message text follows:

June 14, 2010

Dear Sir:
As one of your constituents, I'm writing to ask you to oppose legislation that could harm our nation's express delivery system by increasing costs, lowering reliability and threatening jobs in the industry and all businesses that depend on overnight delivery.

Language inserted into the House version of the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2009, which passed in the House last May, will dramatically change how FedEx Express is regulated.  The language favors only one company, UPS, and was designed to bail them out of a tough business situation.

Unlike the bailouts to shore up the nation's financial system, paid for by tax dollars, this "Brown Bailout" will force us all to pay more in order to get less, while putting jobs at risk.  This is not what our government should be doing to lower unemployment and put Americans back to work.

I also object to the secretive manner in which this bailout is being pushed through Congress without hearings or public debate on this particular issue.  UPS, the only company that benefits, has been forcing its employees to write letters in support of the bailout, according to the Washington Post ("UPS Employees Say They Were Forced to Lobby against FedEx," Aug. 7, 2009), and that just isn't fair.

Businesses and individuals across America rely on an express delivery system that is dependable and affordable for medicines, equipment and other essential goods.  Prices have never been lower, service has never been better and access to global markets has never been greater.  Congress should not put jobs at risk trying to fix something that isn't broken.

The House of Representatives already passed the FAA Reauthorization bill list May.  When the bill comes back for a final vote this year, please say no to the "Brown Bailout."

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Just Damn!

Who Are You?

North Carolina 2nd district congressman Bob Etheridge slaps at and grabs a person trying to question his coherence to Obama policies.
He offered this apology...
Have no doubt that he regrets his reaction to a mildly provocative question. Etheridge does manage to include the line about "intrusive and partisan" politics which is weasel talk for 'the little bastard is probably a Republican and his question pissed me off'.  Etheridge regrets that he was caught on camera, he has no respect for the person who asked the question and shows it in his physical abuse.
"I have seen the video posted on several blogs. I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction and I apologize to all involved. Throughout my many years of service to the people of North Carolina, I have always tried to treat people from all viewpoints with respect. No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response. I have and I will always work to promote a civil public discourse."

If a Republican had done this to Helen Thomas, he would be censured on the House floor, and arrested by the DC police for assault.

Nullification Encouraged

Federal courts be damned, they are simply an extension of the executive branch.
Federal rights as defined in the Constitution, were meant to be few and limited.
This barrier to Federal tyranny has been obliterated during the last century's call for the government to regulate everything.

After the next national election, if the Republicans don't deliver, this will become an increasingly more likely occurrence.

Jack Daniels Fishing Story

I went fishing this morning but after a short time I ran out of worms.
Then  I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in his mouth. Frogs are good bass bait.
Knowing the snake couldn't bite me with the frog in his mouth I grabbed him right behind the head, took the frog, and put it in my bait bucket.
Now the dilemma was how to release the snake without getting bit.
So, I grabbed my bottle of Jack Daniels and poured a little whiskey in its mouth.
His eyes rolled back, he went limp.  I released him into the lake without incident and carried on fishing using the frog.
A little later, I felt a nudge on my foot.
There was that same snake with two frogs in his mouth.
Life is good in Alabama!

MEXICO IS ANGRY

Recevied as an email from Mr. Fulks.....

This is very interesting and if Arizona can do it, why can't the rest of America ?

The shoe is on the other foot and the Mexicans from the State of Sonora, Mexico doesn't like it. Can you believe the nerve of these people? It's almost funny. The State of Sonora is angry at the influx of Mexicans into Mexico . Nine state legislators from the Mexican State of Sonora traveled to Tucson to complain about Arizona 's new employer crackdown on illegals from Mexico .
It seems that many Mexican illegals are returning to their hometowns and the officials in the Sonora state government are ticked off.
A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson on Tuesday to state that Arizona 's new Employer Sanctions Law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state. At a news conference, the legislators said that Sonora , - Arizona 's southern neighbor, - made up of mostly small towns, - cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools that it will face as Mexican workers return to their hometowns from the USA without jobs or money.
The Arizona law, which took effect Jan. 1, punishes Arizona employers who knowingly hire individuals without valid legal documents to work in the United States . Penalties include suspension of, or loss of, their business license.
The Mexican legislators are angry because their own citizens are returning to their hometowns, placing a burden on THEIR state government. 'How can Arizona pass a law like this?' asked Mexican Rep Leticia Amparano-Gamez, who represents Nogales. 'There is not one person living in Sonora who does not have a friend or relative working in Arizona ,' she said, speaking in Spanish. ' Mexico is not prepared for this, for the tremendous problems it will face as more and more Mexicans working in Arizona and who were sending money to their families return to their home-towns in Sonora without jobs,' she said. 'We are one family, socially and economically,' she said of the people of Sonora and Arizona .

Bally little bastard isn't he, seems to fail on recognition of the fact he is making our argument for us.

Wrong!
The United States is a sovereign nation, not a subsidiary of Mexico, and its taxpayers are not responsible for the welfare of Mexico 's citizens.
It.s time for the Mexican government, and its citizens, to stop feeding parasitically off the United States and to start taking care of its/their own needs. Too bad that other states within the USA don't pass a law just like that passed by Arizona.
Maybe that's the answer, since our own Congress will do nothing!

New Immigration Laws: Read to the bottom or you will miss the message...
  1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.
  2. All ballots will be in this nation's language.
  3. All government business will be conducted in our language.
  4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.
  5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office.
  6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any burden will be deported.
  7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
  8. If foreigners come here and buy land, options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
  9. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.
  10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted and when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.

Do you think that this is too strict?
The above laws are the current immigration laws of MEXICO !

Anchor Babies

Polls show that 58% of Americans agree with Governor Brewer, families with dissimilar citizenships have choices to make.  I would add my two cents that being born on USA soil to a mother who has illegally entered our country does not constitute citizenship.  These children should not be conveyed citizenship.

The Blind Side

Normally I do not rush to watch the latest Oscar winning movies, lately it seems that, like the Nobel Peace Price, awards are given to those viewed to have the most deserving liberal political position.
A story that is true and has not finished for that matter. Big Mike is an over sized Memphis teenager, homeless and abandoned by a drug addict mother, Michael Oher is accepted into a Christian high school.  There Leigh Ann Tuohy recognizes Michael's needs and invites him into her home.  Because of his massive size Michael is encouraged to play football.  At first Mr. Oher's inclination is not to the violence of football, but after Mrs. Tuohy gives the coaches and Michael the insight that he has a very strong defensive personality.  From there Mike excels, takes a scholarship at the University of Mississippi and then is a first round draft choice into the NFL.  Today he still plays.
The cast...
  • Sandra Bullock plays Leigh Anne Tuohy. I have always considered Bullock a lightweight, but I was wrong, for this she was good enough to win the Oscar for Best Actress.
  • Tim McGraw plays Sean Tuohy, Leigh Anne's husband, former basketball player of Ole Miss and successful fast food franchise mogul.  So far I think this son of a major league pitcher, and full time singer a bit of dilettante, this roll fits that.  Friday Night Lights was a good movie for him.
  • Quinton Aaron plays Michael Oher a goo actor, I do not know if personalities are matched but the role is played in a very believable manner.
  • Jae Head play S.J. Tuohy, the sports crazy boy of Sean and Leigh Anne.  Cute part, very entertaining.
  • Lily Collins plays Collins Tuohy, the sister of SJ, has some special problems presented by being in high school with Mike but is able to act as more of an adult than her peers.

I give this movie a rating of 38 of 50. Enjoyed a great deal..

  • Character Development, 8 of 10, a young man is found abandoned, with love an support achieves NFL stardom.
  • Screenplay, 8 of 10.
  • Acting, 9 of 10, somebody got an Academy Award.
  • Photography, 5 of 10. Nothing special
  • Plot, 8 of 10

Paul Is Dead

Have always been a John Lennon fan, many Beatle fans tend to choose sides between John or Paul.  My boss is a huge, huge Paul McCartney fan.  The following may convince him otherwise....
First off, this earns Mr. Silly Little Love Songs AHOTW honors.  Why is it that every artist feels compelled to make some comment about how stupid GW Bush is?  Any practical person knows that the opposite is true, that this opinion in itself shows ignorance and a willingness to degrade for the sake of laughter.
"It's a fantastic honor for the Gershwin family to give me this incredible and for me to be awarded it by the Library of Congress.  In fact, after the last eight years, it's great to have a president who knows what a library is."
To pile on and parse the quotation, Mr. Yeah Yeah Yeah is such an egomanic that he told the Gershwin family that they should be so blessed as to give him an award.  Now I understand what he meant, but that is not what he said. Then followed up by a slap at our President?  AHOTW for you.

Cowards Can't Save Us, Even From Themselves

From a Patriot Post...
"The republic was not established by cowards, and cowards will not preserve it."
Elmer Davis
According to Wikipedia Elmer Davis was an important man.
Davis was considered to be one of the greatest news reporters of the mid-20th century, on a level with Edward R. Murrow. Among the many awards Davis received were three Peabody Awards, including an award during its inaugural year. Foreign governments also recognized Davis when he was inducted into the Dutch Order of Orange-Nassau and the Czechoslovak Order of the White Lion, among others.
Davis spent two and a half years reporting the news on radio and gaining the trust of the nation. Then, in 1941, his colleagues persuaded President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to appoint Davis director of the newly created United States Office of War Information, a sprawling organization with over 3,000 employees. Even though Davis was being paid $53,000 per year from CBS, he left the network to work in government during the crisis of World War II.
As Director of the Office of War Information, Davis recommended to President Roosevelt that Japanese-Americans be permitted to enlist for service in the Army and Navy and urged him to oppose bills in Congress that would deprive Nisei of citizenship and intern them during the war. Davis has been termed one of the "unsung forefathers" of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, an all-Nisei combat unit in the war.
Impressive to me that Mr. Elmer had enough moxie to suggest FDR oppose congressional tendencies.  The statement rings true to itself.  Going back to many earlier posts, liberalism is the outward expression of self loathing, cowardice a significant component of that.

Smells Like Ass

I have a sister in-law that has set aside special blankets on her couches for my brother to use. The reason for this is that, according to her, his blankets smell like ass. My wife thinks this is a cool idea but hasn't had the nerve to suggest it.

How do you think this woman's blankets smell?

Nasty.

American Power Act

Or APA for short, brought to your by past presidential candidates Kerry and Lieberman.
Received by way of magazine, this will be posted eventually at www.paperage.com, PaperAge Managing Editor John O'Brien writes that the new Senate proposal dubbed "American Power Act" has more to do with friction than power.
Senator Kerry says this is not a 'cap and trade' bill but a pollution reduction bill.
"I don't know what 'cap and trade' means, I don't think the average American does".
I think that Senator Kerry is counting on the fact that Americans do not understand 'cap and trade', this because the underlying intent of these bills is control of carbon usage.  That means, for the most part, everything that uses energy will have to be appraised and evaluated for appropriateness and efficiency of energy use.  The government is not so much concerned with efficiency but that is the sales pitch.   Who trusts the government to have that much control in our lives. Not me.  The temptation for the government to use this tool as a means of social engineering will be too great to resist.
O'Brien writes that Climatologist Chip Knappenberger says that if the United States reaches its goal of 83% gas emission reduction, by the year 2100, global temperature will be reduced by 0.111 degree Celsius, that is same as 0.2 degrees F.  How many polar bears is that going to save.
Senator Kerry claims that APA will spur growth in the job markets by way of green energy industry expansion.  What he does not address is the number of jobs that would be lost by the increased costs of supporting the government bureaucracy, or the increased cost per family, estimated at $500 each by the year 2035.  In my appraisal the only way there will be more employment will be if every poor bastard has to work at the government compost heap.
Let's sum it up, increased costs, less employment, vacuous promises, negligible calculable return, sounds like a liberal plan to me.

Starsky and Hutch

A few days ago, coming out of KMart, I saw this relic.

I was a teenager when the show was popular, the car seemed really stylish then.
Now not so much.
It is not a good thing when Huggy Bear is the most memorable character in a series.

70% Support Crackdown On Those Who Hire Illegal Immigrants

Rasmussen report confirms broad support for strict application of laws on the primary source of enticement for potential illegal aliens.
People want to come here to work because the wages are better, the jobs more plentiful, unscrupulous employers skew the system by hiring illegal aliens and wish for continued leniency in enforcement. Such employees when assimilated are great prospects for union participation and Democratic alignment, thus a natural union of the abusives and the liberal anarchists.

This is by our friend Bob Englehart who is the editorial cartoonist for the Hartford Courant. He drew the cartoons some of you have and the Red Sox cartoons Bruce had. Thought you might enjoy it. He's a funny, acerbic guy.
Have a good day.

Birther Sign

The President being alien theory seems pretty far fetched, there is a reportedly valid Hawaii birth certificate floating around out there on the web.  The whole thing smells like how the press strung out the Air Force Reserve service records of President Bush.
Then again I do enjoy the humor.

1953 Chevrolet 3600

Bought this truck in November.  Being a very cold Georgia winter and not having any excess room in my garage, it wasn't until late May till it saw sunlight.  A 12 hour battery charge and the push button start fired right away.  Still having trouble with the three on the tree.
Took the neighbor's kids around the neighborhood about a dozen times, you can see the top of Noah's head.
Good times.
I love the smell of this truck, it reminds me of the trucks and tractors on my grandfather's farrm.

Be afraid, be very afraid...

And from DGJ.
To think that these morons have even suggested such an asinine plan scares the shit out of me!
To me it's an omission they haven't got a clue...

Had More to Offer Than Just One Life

Borrowed from the Patriot Post.
I grew up within sight of the man's one room schoolhouse.
A veteran of great renown, unlike the next Senator of Connecticut.
“I am not influenced by the expectation of promotion or pecuniary reward. I wish to be useful, and every kind of service necessary for the public good, become honorable by being necessary.”

Lying Bastard? No Problem

Rasmussen reports that Blumenthal is extending his lead after being exposed for misrepresenting his armed service.
I guess for the state of Connecticut, that is proof of worth, now he's as good as Christopher Dodd.
Right after Veteran's Day, how nice.

Before You Beat Up on Israel

Susan Estrich says this very well.
Israel is a sovereign nation with a right to defend itself. Gaza is controlled by Hamas who while trying to portray itself as a humanitarian government continues to support and sponsor terror.
Keep in mind that when the soldiers boarded the ship they were physically attacked, do we think that the United Nations dipshit leadership would be complaining a vociferously if the Israeli soldiers had perished?
The men on the ship attacked gun carrying soldiers with sticks, who is nuts here?
News coverage foretells that there is already another flotilla on the way to Gaza, expected to arrive in a week. I expect Israel to maintain the blockade, only to go in with a greater force to ensure everyone's safety.
