My Senators' Recent Votes

The Senate passed this $871 billion health care bill. The bill's name is Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  The House and Senate must now work out the differences between their versions of the bill in conference.  The vote tally was 60 to 39, with 1 not participating.

• Senator Saxby Chambliss voted NO
• Sen. Johnny Isakson voted NO

Thank you gentlemen.  To our Democratic foes, why should Congressional members and business units tied with the executive brach be excluded from the scope of those to be affected by the legislation? 

I am curious how our Republican Sanators would have voted had the situation been closer and opportunities for state perks were dangled in front of your noses.  To presume you have greater strength than some of the conservative Democrat  who folded would be presuming too much.  But we'll see. 

The Senate also passed legislation to permitting the increase of the federal debt limit to $12.39 trillion. The vote tally was 60 to 39, with 1 not participating.  The bill has been sent to the President, who only wishes it was more.

Thank you gentlemen, the libertarian in me always reminds, less money for the government, less money for the government.  Starve as fever, feed a cold.  Starve the damned goverment, let the people feed themselves.

On a brighter note, good to see you distinguished lawmakers working like the rest of us on the week leading into the holiday.
